Mr. Robert Glenn Dixon has
returned home from a visit with
relatives in Maryland and Wash
ington D.. C.
Mr. W. F. Shepherd fell from a
building Saturday and broke
his shoulder, besides other minor
bruises.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Kornegay
and daughter, Lila, of New Bern,
visited at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. W. F. Shepherd this past
week and Mr. and Mrs James
A. Smith and sons, Merle and
Jerry, and daughter, Shirley were
also guests of the Shepherds over
the week end.
The Smiths were from Cherry
Point. This being both families’
first trip in the N. C. mountains,
they said the scenery was beauti
ful, especially the view from the
Scenic Parkway. They said it
was the most wonderful view they
hadiever seen and the trip would
be long remembered, and they
hoped t<v repeat it sometime. The
Smiths were natives of Texas and
the Kornegays were natives of
Craven county in this state. The
Shepherds met them while they
lived at Cherry Point.
