Hanging on the wall you will see a sweet potato which is four feet in length. It was grown by Monroe Caudill, veteran farmer in the Cherry Lane section, who de clared he’d never seen one like it. Suggest you don’t plant that variety if you’re planning to get a meal out of one potato, for although four feet long, it’s slimness would not add much to your diet. Letter From Pa. A letter from one of the News subscribers in Delta, Fennsyl-1 vania, was warmly received last1 week for Mrs. Boyd ' Higgins, who in sending in her renewal, stated that she had recently re turned from an eight-thousand mile tour through Western states and that upon 'ner return she read every copy of the News, despite the fact that some of them i were four weeks old. She also ] said that she had found the News in two homes which she visited, one at the home of H. I. Rich-1 ardson in Chicago, and the other at the home of Mrs. Harl Cheek in Michigan. “Everyone seems to enjoy the News,” she stated and. naturally we’re pleased to learn just how far th/e New^s does reach. As far as we could learn there were few pranks carried out except a shock of corn now and then sud- j denly grew in highways. Some fences too were moved. We do not favor barricades on High ways at anytime, because they sometimes cause dangerous ac cidents. The most unusual prank was the fact that an o’possum went to the theatre. He evidently tried to show off as he was found in the ticket window cake the next morning. Alas the poor animal was dead. Whether he was shocked by what he saw or suffocated it is not konwn; but passers-by were relieved it was an o’possum instead of a skunk!
