About S1S0 Loss Sunday afternoon between 6 and 7 o'clock there came near being a serious fire. But for the fact that the bia:;e was discovered In time all probability thousands of dollars' worth of property would have gone up in smoke and ashes. Yesterday at) the hour stated the store building occupied by Mr. D. F. Sawyer, grocer, and owned by the R. L. Brown estate, was seen to be afire at the rear end of the building, near the ceiling and at the time of its discovery was making good head, way. The alarm was promptly given and the department responded an<f soon it whs extinguished. The building was damaged about (100, and Mr. Sawyer thinks that the damage to his etoclc will aggregato about MO.
