A surprise birthday dinner was
given Friday in honor of Miss
Lucy Ann Caison on her seventyninth
birthday at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. M. A. Phelps,,
near Bolivia.
Dinner was served at one |
o'clock, observing the hour of!
Mrs. Caison's birth. A large birthday
cake bearing seventy-nine
candles graced the center of the
dining table.
Mrs. Caison has one living
child, Mrs. M. A. Phelps, of Bolivia,
two grandchildren, Mrs. W.
D. Hewett, of Wilmington, and
Mr. Lee W. Phelps, of Ash, two
great grand children, Charles and
Clarence Phelps, all of whom
were present at the dinner. Rev.
and Mrs. Dan Stanley, of Wilmington,
were also guests at the
dinner.

Miss Maiy Sentelle Tate, niece
of Mrs. L. J. Dawkins, went to
the egg rolling given on the
white House lawn in Washington,
Easter. She was greatly thrilled
over being able to shake hands
with Mrs. F. D. Roosevelt.

Pinochle Club at her home last
Monday. After several progressions
of Pinochle, Mrs. Jelks
