JUNIOR PARTY , The Junior class was entertained by Miss Lois Jane Bussels at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs. I. B. Bussels, on Bay Street last week. Pretty flowers were placed in the living rooms. Many games and contests were enjoyed. The honor guests of Miss Bussels and the Junior class were: Misses Lela Hubbard, Evelyn Loughlin, and Dickie Burns; Messrs. Robert Marlowe, Guess Swan, Jack Hickman, D. I. Watson and Frank Walker. All enjoyed cake and punch served by Miss Bussels. MILLIONAIRES CLUB MEETS Mr. L. T. Yaskell was host to the Millionaires Club on Wednesday night. Bridge was played at three tables. Mr. John Erickson and Mr. Casey Reece won high scores. Mr. Yaskell served sandwiches, cake and milk. BIRTHDAY PARTY Little Miss Sally Anne McNeill delightfully entertained a large number of children on the occasion of her seventh birthday at the Miller Hotel Friday night. The dining room was beautifully decorated with pink rambler roses. From the chandalier hung dainty strips of pink and green ruffled paper. In the center of the table was a pretty cake with seven pink candles. Many games were enjoyed by the little children, after which ice cream and cake were served. Little horns tied with pink and green ribbon were given as favors. Little Sally Anne received many pretty gifts. DEATH OF MRS JENNETTE Mrs. Ollie Jennette, of Waccamaw, died last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Jennette is of one of the oldest families of that section. She was eighty-one years old and left a host of friends and relatives. Mrs. Jennette is the mother of Messrs. Harry and Bennie Jennette, of Waccamaw. PINOCHLE CLUB MEETS Mrs. J. W. Ruark was charming hostess to the Pinochle Club Monday afternoon. Handsome American Beauty roses adorned the living room. Pinochle was played at two tables. Mrs. H. T. St George won high score prize, which was a pretty vase. Those present included: Mesdames Ruark, James Carr, J. G. Christian, J. W. Jelks, H. T. St. George, L. T. Yaskell, Dave Davis arid J. W. Thompson. Mrs. Ruark served fruit salad and ice tea. HONOR MISS CRANMER Mesdames L. T. Yaskell and James Carr were joint hostesses at a kitchen shower for Miss Mary Cranmer Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. Carr. The house was prettily decorated with roses and larkspur. VISITS PARENTS Mr. Allen Adams, of Wilmington, was a Sunday visitor to his father and mother, Rev. and Mrs. Adams, whose home is on West Street. AT MYRTLE BEACH The Arnold Brothers sailed on Saturday for Myrtle Beach with their party boats, where they run deep sea fishing parties during i the beach season. Thirty five children enjoyed the hospitality of Mrs. Moore. 4TH GRADE TEA PARTY Miss Sallie Lovelace entertain- j ed the fourth grade at a tea party Monday afternoon at the ! Army and Navy Club. The chil(dren enjoyed games, after which each was refreshed with a glass of Lemonade and mixed cakes. Burris and Mrs. Maurice Drew. Mrs. Drew has been ill for some time. Miss Catherine Ruark, of Wilmington, attended the commencement exercises of Southport high school last week.
