Camron visited Mr. Joe Beck Sunday. Friends of Mr. J. J. Braswell are glad he :3 improving from a recent illness. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Beck and Miss Ida Mae and Marjorie Beck ! visited Mr. Beck's brother, Mr. Dunk Beck, who is a patient at the Brunswick county hospital, Sunday afternoon. EXUM Exum, Dec. 10.?Mrs. W. S. 1 Carlisle passed a way at her home in the Zion neighborhood on Thursday, December 5th. sne had been an invalid for more than three years and the end did not come unexpected. Mrs. Carlisle, before her marriage was Miss Elmira Hickman, daughter i of the late Samuel Hickman. Although her body had been frail for a long time she was still an inspiration to all who knew her. Her suffering was taken patiently and she was always ready and glad for a visiting frien^ or neighbor to come in j for a chat. She was a member of Zion Baptist church from its beginning and was ever faithful to its needs. There is nothing more fitting to epitomize the life of this good lady than the Scripture. 2nd Timothy 4: 7, 8, : "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them that love His appearing." , Surviving her are her husband, STATE PORT PILOT, SOUTH f i ! eight daughtes, Mrs. Blanie Hick- 1 man, Mrs. J. Simmons on Friday afternoon. ^ It was a great shock to the many friends of Miss Nellie Lit- j tie when she died Tuesday night ' | of last week. Miss Little was ; probably about 45 years of age ( and had never married. Although , j her health was not good her con- j J dition was not known to be ser- jj j ious and she had kept up until j) j a few days before her death, i i j She was a faithful member of j i ( Camp Branch Baptist church. jj Although she was frail and there was lots of things she i j could not do for want of phy- j ' sical strength she was always j ; ready to lend a helping hand j where ever she could. Her last j work on earth was to visit and i ! assist a sick neighbor. She is | I survived by several brothers and J sisters. Funeral services were con- : ducted by Reverend W. V. Sim- j j mons and interment was made J ' in Camp Branch cemetery on | j Thursday morning. || I Edward, the little son of Mr. j and Mrs. J. W. Stanley died at; the home of his parents Friday, j December 6th. Edward was only i2% years old and was an un-1 ! usually sweet child. To his family and close friends he was known as Amos and his twin brother, Newman was called An; dy. His death was caused by pneumonia. Surviving him are his parents, two brothers, Laten and Frank, two sisters, Ruby and Crystal, also his twin, Newman. The entire community extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.
