George Y. Watson, Miss Susie Newton and Mrs. Annie K. /itou. BIRTHDAY PARTY Captain and Mrs. J. I. Davis were hosts at a dinner party at their home in Southport Sunday in honor of S. E. Memory, of WhiteviHe, father of Mrs. Davis, on his eighty-second birthday. The lower floor of the home was thrown en suite and was beautifully decorated with a profusion of mixed spring flowers. A large white birthday cake with lighted tapers, nested in a bed of vari-colored sweetpeas, graced the dining table. Covers were laid for S. E. Memory, the honoree, T. S. Mem>ry.. and Mrs. Annie Memory Spears, of WhiteviHe; Captain and Mrs. J. T. Sellers, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Williford and Mrs. T. C. Bell, of Wilmington; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Townsend, _ of Elizabet htown; Mr. and Mrs. Lex Jones and Captain and Mrs. J. I. Davis, of Southport. During the afternoon a host of friends called to pay their respects to Mr. Memory and to wish for him many happy returns of the day. They remained to enjoy a delightful musical program which included selections from Carrie Jacobs Bond's best loved works. .Taking part in the vocal trio and quartet selections were Mrs. L. T. Yaskell, Mrs. E. M. Hall, Mrs. Harry Corlette and Mrs. J. I. Davis. Mrs. I. B. Bussells was accompanist. The expression of good wishes and the beautiful gifts received by Mr. Memory showed in a small way the high esteem in which he is held by his friends. MRS. YASKELL HOSTESS Mrs. L. T.
