"ANGELS UNAWARE" Some day Southport people will wake up and find that they have been entertaining Angels unaware, in the guise of sportsmen with the discrimation to appreciate real sport and the will and power to transmit his appreciation to other sportsmen. In the barracuda, as we have often said, Southport has a real i! fighting fish; a kind that is found no where else on the j coast of North Carolina and at very few points on the coast towards Florida. On account of the peculiar fact that barracuda are not found at any point above us, we are beginning to have the suspicion that these fish out on Frying Pan come all of the j way from Bermuda, Cuba or the Canal Zone, just to sum- | mer off Southport. They are out there from early April until early December. They are a fish renowned for its fighting qualities; said to be the fiercest that live in the sea. There are plenty of sportsmen that will go thousands of miles just to fish for barracuda. We are not belittling the other splendid game fish; we simply insist that added to them the barracuda at Southport will some day be a drawing card for attracting attention to this town. The sportsmen who are now pioneering; in the Gulf Stream fishing: at Southport may turn out to be angels unaware to Southport people. It is through, them that the news will spread of what wo have here. It is up to our boatmen and all civic minded people to treat these visitors with every human consideration.
