I Those who enjoyed the hospitality of Mrs. Mintz, besides the honoree were Mesdames L. T, Yaskell, Louis Dixon, L. C. Fergus, James Carr, Rudolph Sanders, WilUam Styron, William Wells, H. T. St. George, H. W, Hood and James Harper. CLUB MEETING The August meeting of Southport Home Demonstration Club will be held at Cashwell Beach one week from this Thursday. The party will leave here at 5 o'clock in order to allow time for a swim before the picnic supper is spread at 6:30 o'clock. Afterwards there will be a special period of recreation which will be led by Mrs. H. T. St. George and Mrs. Marion S. Dosher. Members are urged to be present and to bring their husbands. Those who cannot come early are invited to be present for the recreation period. CIRCLE MEETING Circle number three met with Mrs. Charles Wells on Monday night. Mrs. William Wells was co-hostess for the occasion. Mrs. E. M. Hall, leader of the circle, presented an interesting program. Mrs. Elizabeth Gilbert read an article entitled "Criticizing Our Friends", after which Mrs. William Wells read "Giving is Living". Mrs. Hall then gave a synopsis of the leaflet "Widening Missionary Service". Delicious punch and cakes were served the e-ood number of mem bers and visitors present. PINOCHLE CLUB Mrs. H. T. St. George was hostess to the Pinochle club last week at which time Mrs. W. S. Dosher was given a going-away shower. High scoreer was Mrs. W. S. Davis while consolation prize went to Mrs. W. C. Reece. Salad and an iced drink were served. Guests included Mesdames Dosher. honoree, Davis, Reece, J. W. Thompson, J. A. Dosher, L. T. Yaskell and J. W. Ruark. Captain Davis Up And About Captain J. I. Davis, who was critically ill for several weeks following a heart attack, is able to be up and about again. Twice since his illness he has been able to attend Sunday school. Captain Davis says that he is full of gratitude for the kindness and consideration shown by his friends for members of his family and himself during his illness. Since he has been able to receive visitors he has had hundreds of callers, and inquiries have come from many sources including out-of-state places. Town Creek Club To Meet Town Creek Club will hold its annual recreational meeting at the home of Mrs. E. C. Woodbury on Monday afternoon, August 21, at 4 o'clock. An hour of wholesome fun and entertainment has been planned by the recreational committee with Mrs. Furman Galloway as chairman, the numerous volunteers for assisting the hostess gives promise of tempting and abundant refreshments.
