Painfully Hurt
By Stab Wound
D. N. Mintz, of Bolivia, was
seriously and painfully hurt Friday
when he accidentally stabbed
himself in the side.
Mr. Mintz was trying to cut the

(which was the victim of a suaoeu
fit while working, and in the resulting
struggle he plugged his
knife into his own left side, dangerously
close to his heart.
He was carried to a Wilmington

Cherry McDonald
Must Miss Show
j The annual Cape Fear Horse
I Show, an event usually well at!
tended by Southport and Brunswick
county horse lovers, will be
held at Legion Stadium, Wilmington,
Friday and Saturday, but this
year it seems that the show must
| go on without a star performer of
I other years, Cherry McDonald, a
J fine fivc-gaited sorrel marc be[
longing to Dr. and Mrs. L. C.
i Fergus.
The reason? Well, its like this:
j Cherry became a mother Saturi
day night, and is somewhat indisposed.
The offspring is a romping
baby boy who doubtless will be
chomping at the bit to be off to
the show with his ma, come next
April.
