in the navy and has been station-'
ed at the Section Base at Fort
Caswell for some time. He left |
last week for the University of
Texas, where he is now receiving
special naval training.
Mrs. Lucas is the youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, i
She graduated from the South-j
port high school with the class of
1941. She is one of Southport'sj
most attractive and popular young
ladies. The couple expect to re- j
side at Aberdeen at the conclu-!
sion of the war.

Mrs. Anne Creech was hostess
at a* delightful surprise party
honoring her mother-in-law, Mrs.
Harrison Creech, on Thursday
evening. The occasion being her
birthday. The guests assembled
at 7:30 o'c'ock and greeted the i
honorce upon her arriving by
singing "Happy birthday."
Bingo was played and two in-1
teresting contests were enjoyed.'
