mes Valuable
e Far Farm Use
fective in controlling cabbage
. worms and leaf eating insects on
[ egg plant. Cryolite kills insects
^ as a stomach poison. The material
is slightly poisonous and
leafy vegetables which have been
sprayed or dusted should be
washed before eaten. There is
comparatively little danger in any
a of these poisonous residues on
[ the leaves because of the small
amount of the material present.
As a matter of fact, small
, amounts of the flourine compound,
such as the cryolite, may
actually be beneficial to human
- health. One of the first symp:
toms of over dosing of cryolite
i is the mottling of teeth but in
s smaller amounts it apparently
? strengthens and hardens teeth.
Do not be afraid to eat vegetables
which have been dusted
f with this material as the human
r capacity Is not sufficient to enable
one to consume sufficient
' amounts of vegetables to receive
1 a fatal dose of this poison.
' , For details of methods of uss
ing cryolite on vegetable crops

At the same time it is learned 11
i that Sir Alexander Maxwell,

resigned his post this indicating, I
that there is now i n sight a;l
gradual movement towards nor-|l
mality in British leaf stocks with 11
the end of the war in Europe,! I
Maxwell is well known on several I
southern markets as result of j I
visits during official missions lo I

I Stocks of leaf have been lower I
