D. J. Smith, Durham real estate man and Southgate Jones, Durham banker and real estate man, iwere here all of last week. Both are getting keenly interested in local properties and are setting about to see that some of it changes hands and becomes available for various uses. In addition to buying and selling they may undery:ke some development of their own, according to information. A. R. Mooney, of Supply, is one of the farmer friends of the paper who never take a chance of their subs running out and missing a copy. Already paid up until the first of February, Mr. Mooney approached the Pilot's man last week with an inquiry if he could renew now for another year. He could and did and his present rating is that he is puid up to February, 1D47, and he was an equally good rating as a friend of the paper. This very friendly word comes to the State Port Pilot from R. G. Hewett Mo MM, first class, from somewhere in the Pacific. He asked that his paper be sent to his home address. Evidently he is on his way home. Continuing, he said: "I have been serving with an Aircraft Service in the Philippines and I now am or mv wav home. Mv mother, Mrs H. G. Hewett, of Shallotte, sent me a subscription to the State Port Pilot some time ago and I have really enjoyed reading everj copy of it. It was old when I got it but it was still news tc I me. I'd like to pass the word or i to all Brunswick parents anc wives, who have sons or husband: I in the armed forces, especially ii they are overseas, if you warn to give them, a present they wil really appreciate, send them i i subscription to the State Por' Pilot."
