Mrs. Reaves Is
Hostess To Club
The Ar.nocn Home Demon
stration club met Monday, April,
8, at the home of Mrs. Joe Reaves.
The meeting was called to order
by the vice-president, Mrs. Carl S.
Ward, who presided. The group
sang "America The Beautiful,"
after which they repeated the Col
lect of the Club Women of Ameri
ca. During the business period the
district meeting of Clubs of the
11th district, comprising Duplin,
Pender, New Hanover, and Brun
swick counties, was discussed.
This meeting will be held at
Southport in the school building
cn June 19th. It will be the first
district meeting ever held in
Biunswick county, although the
county has been hostess several
times to meetings in New Hanov
er. ,
Some timely poultry hints were
given by the poultry leader, Mrs.
Taft Lewis. The demonstration,
"Care of the Sewing Machine",
was given by Mrs. W. A. Kopp,
who is president of the county
home demonstration clubs. Mrs.
Kopp cleaned the machine
throughly and discussed its care.
All were delighted with the dem
onstration. Few of those present
knew how to . take a sewing
machine apart, clean it and put
it together again.
Owing to the lengthy discuss
ions and demonstrations there was
no time for recreation. Mrs.
Reaves served refreshments to the
following guests: Mrs. W. A.
Kopp, Mrs. Taft Lewis, Mrs.
Ralph Clemmons, Mrs. Wesley

Since I announced for the Board of County Com

many nice assurances of support from the people who
know me.
For this assurance from my friends, I am most
grateful.
To the folks who do not know me personally, I wish
to say that I am a life-long resident of Brunswick Coun

Nineteen months of this time was spent overseas.
