Near Courthouse Square WHITEVILLE Mrs. Reaves Is Hostess To Club The Ar.nocn Home Demon stration club met Monday, April, 8, at the home of Mrs. Joe Reaves. The meeting was called to order by the vice-president, Mrs. Carl S. Ward, who presided. The group sang "America The Beautiful," after which they repeated the Col lect of the Club Women of Ameri ca. During the business period the district meeting of Clubs of the 11th district, comprising Duplin, Pender, New Hanover, and Brun swick counties, was discussed. This meeting will be held at Southport in the school building cn June 19th. It will be the first district meeting ever held in Biunswick county, although the county has been hostess several times to meetings in New Hanov er. , Some timely poultry hints were given by the poultry leader, Mrs. Taft Lewis. The demonstration, "Care of the Sewing Machine", was given by Mrs. W. A. Kopp, who is president of the county home demonstration clubs. Mrs. Kopp cleaned the machine throughly and discussed its care. All were delighted with the dem onstration. Few of those present knew how to . take a sewing machine apart, clean it and put it together again. Owing to the lengthy discuss ions and demonstrations there was no time for recreation. Mrs. Reaves served refreshments to the following guests: Mrs. W. A. Kopp, Mrs. Taft Lewis, Mrs. Ralph Clemmons, Mrs. Wesley Garner, Mrs. Floyd Brittian, Mrs. Cail Ward, Kitty Lewis, Joe Reaves, Jr., and Miss Dorothy Ward. farm and rural home owners in the next five years, the study revealed.
