FloWerS of satin Were' appliqued on the bodice. Her j finger tip veil of illusion was fas-] tened to a Princess Elizabeth crown of seed pearls. She car ried a white satin prayer book topped with a purple throated orchid with talisman satin stream ers. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. Miss La Rue Ward, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of yellow taffeta with a fitted bodice, a full skirt and yellow mitts. She carried an old fashioned nosegay of pom poms, garzars, candy tuff and carnations tied with wide yellow satin ribbon. Bridesmaids were Miss June Wright, Miss Mirtem Lennon, Miss Pauline Hardie and'Miss Esther Ward all of Whiteville. Miss Wright and Miss Lennon wore pink dresses and mitts fashioned like that of the matd of honor and carried nosegays of mixed flowers tied with blue ribbon. Miss Hardie and Miss Ward wore blue gowns and mitts and car ried nosegays of mixed flowers tied with pink ribbon. Hugh David Nance of Ash served as best man. Immediately following the cere mony a reception was held. The table was Covered with a hand made cloth. Bridal cakes, mints and punch were served by Miss Irene Lennon, Miss Thelma Blake and Mrs. A. After hovering between life and death, during which time she spent 24 months in hospitals, Eleanor finally regained her health, thanks to the March of Dimes contributions that provided the treatments.
