West Will Play For Christmas i Virgil West and His Orchestra of Delco will play for the annual] Christmas Dance of the Whiteville Woman's Club on Saturday even ing. Announcement of additional plans for the Christmas Night affair, which has become a tradi tion in Whiteville, was made to day by Mrs. P. C. Townsend, chairman of publicity for the dance. West has played in Whiteville on several occasions in the past and he and his musicians are quite popular with dancing groups all over this section. He is a former musical director with the late Major Bowes' all-star unit and once played with both the Richmond and North Carolina Spmphony orchestras. The popular orchestra leader was the RKO Stage Pressentations for eight years and has played numerous engagements with ho tels and clubs. The present orchestra recently played 18 months at the Planta tion Club in Wilmington and is the same group which appeared here at the Christmas Dance of the past two years. The dance will begin at 9 o'clock Christmas Night.
