Monday we saw Catherine Mc Racken taking names during se-1 cond period . . We saw Kay Moore on her way to the baseball | game in Wilmington . . And by j the way, we lost by the score, of 6 to 3 . . We saw Darrellj Fisher all by himself in the corner reading . . Friday night we saw Harriett Corlette, Karen Swan, Nancy Swan, Janice Swan, Latitia Hickman, Lena Ward, Peggy Arnold and Bernice Phelps watch ing and listening to our school band practice . . Douglas Watts was deeply interested in the sport page of the paper Monday . . A few freshmen were discussing what they thought they made on the 6 weeks English test . . We saw Agnew Fulcher Sunday after- J noon on his way to the hospital to see his mother. We all hope that she will be well and home [ again soon . . Bernice Phelps was showing her cousin, Betty Johnson, our local park Sunday . . We saw Lena Ward coming from mTisfc j?lass. all smiles . . We saw some, of Richard Brendle's great poetry on the black board of Mr. Sanders' tilass room . . We heard Bobby Spencer telling everyone I about stealing home during the game Sunday. In school we saw Bertram Bur- j ris, our Public Pest No. 1, living up to his name by pestering Julia Brown, Martha . Buckman and Joan Marie . . The seniors and juniors are becoming anxious over the forthcoming banquet . . Jackie Marsh, Gloria Hewett, Billy Dosher, Billy Smith and several other young people were seen going to Wilmington to the skating rink. Everyone had a nice time . . George Stanley was seen stealing more pencils . . Iris Rabon spent the week-end at Winnabow with one of her girl friends . Sue Williamson was seen recuperating from her chicken pox . . The sophomores are be coming mighty worried over a biology test. The Freshman girls who are to be waitress at the Junior-Senior banquet have been seen making preporation for the costumes . . Tbmmy Bowmer, Billy McDowell, G. W. Fisher, Jimmy Ratcliffe, Gene Russ, and more of our boys were seen leaving to go to play Camp LeJeune Sat urday . . Patricia Adams, Janice Swan, Harriett Corlette and many others of our girls added at tractiveness to Southport in their Easter outfits and lovely Easter bonnets. Bobby Cullis has been seen roaming around school be tween classes . . Betty Jean Helms has been seen studying during study hall . . Elizabeth Lupton.was seen losing her pat ience with Gloria Hewett because she's not a speed-demon like her self. Friday we saw the school stu dents heading for home about 12:05 o'clock in observance of Good Friday, Yes, we really got a half-holiday . . Thursday after noon all of the majorettes were excused from class for an hour of practice. They really needed it . , Elizabeth Lupton, Nancy Swan, Karfin Swan, Janice Swan, Mary Ann Loughlin, Janice Trun nel, Harriett Corlette and Latitia Hickman were seen walking to the hospital to see a few of the sick folks Sunday . . Also on Sunday we saw the twins, Lena Ward, Peggy Arnold and Linda] Hickman .riding around in Lena's car. We know they were having fun . . Saturday night saw a whole group of youngsters going on a boat ride , . The moon was beautiful. Seen Around: Hats, suits, | dresses, shoes and everything else! that comes with Easter. The whole 1 year compared to the sights of, Easfer is nothing. Since we're sure you all want to know what some of our local boys and girls wore, here goes. Sunday schools all over town were alive when such girls as Latitia Hickman in her lovely pink bonnet; Nancy | Swan in her outfit including a ' pink gardinia; Mary Ann Loughlin ! who was dressed just right in her suit and blue accessories; Karen i Swan real Eastery from the top ' of her feather to the tip of her toes; Sue Williamson awfully cute hat and all; and Bernice Phelps dressed in green with white . . I The McRacken twins also looked mighty nice . .After Sunday school we saw Janice Swain in her j navy blue; Harriett Corlette in ? her brown, with white; Stuart | Arrington in her navy blue and i 'pink and Elizabeth Lupton in navy blue with white . .Don't! think our boys didn't dress up be- | cause Sonny Hickman had on aj new shirt with a lovely tie; Billy | McDowell had on a brown suit I and an awfully flashy tie and all of our boys loked nice . . Sunday morning didn't end Easter how ever, because in the afternoon we saw Lena Ward, who had a beautiful suit with red acces- j sories; and Linda Hickman, who looked awfully nice. The Methodist gave their Eas ter Cantata in the afternoon Here we saw everybody including Jan ice Trunnel and her hat. But all days come to an end and we're sure this one came to a beautiful one, because the Baptists gave their cantata Sunday night. We particularly want to mention the lovely solos sung by Patricia Adams and Gloria* Hewett. Now Monday! we saw Betty Jean Helms, Ula Garner, Richard Brendle, Jimmy Davis, Billy Smith, and nearly all of our sen iors including George Stanley ad miring some new pictures . . We saw Loretta Spencer in her lovely Easter attire . . We saw Coopie Burris picking up yo-yo's . . Bobby Spencer with his trombone all shined'. . Tommy Bowmer and several of the other boys talking about how they love to sit on the back row and watch the hats Easter Sunday .. . Our band is going to Bolivia Thursday night. Our Seniors are giving their play! "Tons of Trouble" for the folks | at Bolivia and the audience also will get an extra treat because our band is going to play for i them.
