'‘Last week when we said that basketball was' over, we only '■meant that it was over for the ■varsity team. The Junior varsity tournament was played this week tat. Shallotte. Monday evening the Shallotte and Bolivia girls and the South p6rt and Bolivia boys played. Both Bolivia teams won. Tuesday the Waecamaw girls took over the Southport girls while the Mhallotte boys won over Wacca inaw. Wednesday night the cham pionship was played off. Both Bo livia teams came out on top. The Waecamaw girls and Shallotte fcoys were in second place. After ’^Ke games trophies were present ed to each team by the president ‘of the Block “S" club, Amelia Kirby. Tuesday morning Coach Car micheal presented the the Block “S" sweaters to the club mem bers. As we told you before they are gray with purple bars and the Black “S” letter has a purple background. It was just the right kind of weather to show them off Tuesday but, jeepers, was it cold Wednesday ? Another thing of interest Fri day was the basketball game be tween the teachers and the F. H. A. club. At each quarter the club members would carry pillows out in the court for the teachers to sit on. At the half a large jar of “Hadacol” was carried out to them. Also at the half Floyd Clemmons called some of the spectators to the middle at the gym and told them that he was going to paint a picture of spring. Some of them were handed posters with flowers, trees, etc. written on them. When he arranged each one in his place, a poster was held up for th# rest of the spectators to read. It said “Gathering of the Nuts.” During the last half, a notice ! was sent to the score-keeper say ‘ MOST FOR YOUR MONEY T>l Next time you have some shopping to do Hfor clothes for the family or for groceries, feed or flour, come here and find out for your self that your dollar will buy more value than j^ou are now getting. | R. Cheerlead ers for the teachers were Miss Newton, Miss Keaton and Mrs. Formyduval, while Eva Mae He wett, June Caison, and Margaret Bellamy took over for the club team.
