Dinner Honors Legislature Group epresentative and Mrs. James C. Bowman had as their dinner guests at their home Sunday eve ning a number of members of the State Legislature and other vis itors. A buffet dinner was served following a cocktail party. Guests included Representative and Mrs. Addison Hewlett of Wilmington; Repreesntative Claude Harris of Salisbury; Rep resentative Clifton Blue of Aber deen; Representative Frank Snepp of Charlotte; Representative Ed Kemp of High Point; Represent ative Carl Venters of Jackson ville; Senator Arthur Kirkman of High Point; Senator Max Thomas of Marshville; Senator and Mrs. S. Bunn Frink of South port; Edwin A. Clement of Ra leigh; Lynn Garibaldi and Tom Byrd of Charlotte; Jerry Caw thorne, chief engineer for South ern Bell; Paul Woodson of Wil mington; and Mayor and Mrs. Roy Robinson of Southport. Several of the members of this party were in Southport for deep sea fishing trips on Sunday and Monday. VISITS MOTHER Capt. R. R. Lewis and members of his family visited his mother, Mrs. Brady Lewis, here last week. Capt. Lewis will attend jet school at San Antonio, Texas, before re porting for duty in Alhska. Going to school is no new experience for this Southport native, for last year he received his B. S. degree from the University of Maryland. Also present for the meeting was Mrs. T. W. Young, past president of the or ganization, also a resident of Dur ham. These ladies were overnight guests at the home of Mrs. C. Ed Taylor, and during the evening pictures of the Home for Old Ladies in Raleigh, Durham and Greenville were shown. These homes were built through the ef forts of local circles, and were of great interest to those who saw them for the first time. Demonstration Club Flower Show Held The Brunswick County Home Demonstration Club women hac their annual flower show at Bo livia Wednesday. Blue ribbon; were won by the following: Per fection of Bloom, Mrs. J. Dan' ford, miniature artistic arrange1 ment, Mrs. Evelyn Gilbert; man tal arrangement, Mrs. G. J. Clem mons; beside tray arrangement Mrs. R. D. Clemmons; dining table arrangement, Mrs. Elberl Kirby; potted plants non-bloom ing, Mrs. A. H. Cromer, Mrs Frank Mintz; potted plants blooming, Mrs. R. Galloway; fruil and vegetable arrangement, Mrs J. Danford. Mrs. R. D. Clemmons was the winner of the most points and received large vase as a prize. PERSONALS Mrs. Edith Johnson and daugh ters of Bennettsville, S. C., spent last Sunday here with Capt. and Mrs. C. N. Swan. She is his sistfcr, and came to attend homecoming at Trinity Methodist Church. Mrs. Virgil Harris and dau: li ter, Sally Ann, have returned to their home at Marshalburg af er spending last week here w th Capt. and Mrs. C. N. Swan. Mr. and Mrs. Neils Jorgens en and family left yesterday for a visit with her parents and otler relatives at Hagerstown, Md. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elwood and son and Mrs. G. W. Fisher, Sr., spent from Friday until Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schulze in Chambersburg, Pa. Mrs. Wal burg Moore and Mrs. Clayton Hickman returned home with them after spending two weeks there. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Wells are spending several weeks in Key West, Fla. Mrs. Ormond Leggett has re turned from a visit with her par ents at Lock Haven, Penna. A. E. Huntley has returned from a visit to his home in New England, and his mother returned with him for a visit.
