Circle Meets Circle No. Ill held its regular monthly meeting Thursday night at the home of Mrs. A. E. Hunt ley. The meeting was opened with a prayer by the circle chairman, Mrs. J. D. Ward. Mrs. William Faulk, Jr., pro gram chairman, gave a very in teresting program the topic being “Facing the Alcohol Problems’’, after a short discussion, plans were made by the circle to try to work out something for the young people of the town, hoping to furnish good, clean fun for all. Members hope when citizens are asked for their support in this project the answer will be yes. After various reports the meet ing was closed with a prayer by Mrs. Huntley. Delicious refresh ments were served to the follow ing members: Mrs. L. M. Pender graph, Mrs. J. D. Ward, Mrs. Faulk, Jr., Mrs. Clinton Bellamy, Mrs. John Hewett, Mrs. Mary He wett. After dinner the club members and guests assembled at the home of Mrs. Thurston Mintiz and heard Mrs. Block speak on“Per sonality and Poise for the Bus iness and Professional Woman”. Bane T. Underwood be fore a background of pine, gladio las, pom poms flanked by seven branched candelabras bearing burning white tapers. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Bob Humphreys of Plymouth, organist, and Mrs. Humphrey’s sister, Miss Willa Jackson of Pinelevel, soloist. Miss Jackson sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel C. Clifton of Whiteville and the groom is the son of Mrs. Jack Boyd, Sr. and the late Mr. Boyd of Candor. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a floor lejigth gown of Mozur lace over ivory bridal satin designed with a scal loped sabrina neckline ending in a Vee in the back and long sleeves. The bouffant skirt fea tured a bustle in the back accent ed by roses of self-material. Her headpiece was a crown of satin and lace reembroidered in seed pearls from which fell softly a fingertip veil of illusion edged with Mozur lace. She carried a satin covered Bible topped with a white orchid. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Luther Bat ten and Mrs. J. K. Council of Whiteville assisted by Mrs. Henry Fisher and Mrs. Ray Kelly of Whiteville. Mrs. Eugene Engen of White ville presided at the register. Goodbyes were said by Curtis Clifton and Miss Gail Wofford of Cooleemee. For a short wedding trip the bride chose for travel a two piece wool suit of rich purple with matching blouse, accessories and the orchid lifted from her Bible. The bride is a graduate of Whiteville High School and East Carolina College, Greenville where she received a B. S. degree in math. She is presently teaching at Candor High School. The groom is a Candor High School and East Carolina Col lege graduate and will begin teaching soon. After the wedding trip the couple will reside in Candor. Personals Mr. and Mrs. G. W.
