Retired Railroad Employee Passes BOLIVIA — William Kendall Cox, 78, of Bolivia, a retired em ployee of the WB&S Railroad, died Sunday at James Walker Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, after a short illness. Mr. Cox was a member of the Junior Order, UAM of Southport, and of Bethel Methodist Church. Final rites were held Tuesday at 11 a. m. at Bethel Methodist Church by the Rev. Harry K. Tydings, 64, of South port. died early Saturday at James Walker Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, after a lingering ill ness. Final rites were held Sunday at 3 p. m. from St. Phillips Epis copal Church by the Rev. Hunley Elebash, with burial in Old South port Cemetery. ■ Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Emma Tydings Lewis of Orange, N. J. and Mrs. Gladys T. Miessmer. Mrs. Rosa Danford Dies On Wednesday t Mrs. Rosa Ellen Danford, 78, of Bolivia, died Wednesday night at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, after a long illness. She was born in Shallotte on Sept. 2, 1883, the daughter of the late Rev. James Arthur Mintz and Mary Emma Grissett Mintz. She was a member of Bolivia Baptist Church. She is survived by her hus band, Jesse D. Danford, Sr. of Bolivia; five sons, Edwin of Or lando, Fla., Royal of Bolivia, Jesse D., Jr. of Wilmington, James of Wallace and Byrant Danford, Burlington; four daugh ters, Mrs. Lydia Swain and Mrs. Nina Braswell, both of Wilming ton, Mrs. Emma Jane Rochelle of the home and Mrs. Lora Keaver of High Point; two brothers, Ro land Mintz of Shallotte and Dave Mintz of Bolivia; a sister, Mrs. Corneilla Hucks, of High Point; 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Final rites were held Friday at 2 p. m. at Bolivia Baptist Church by the Rev. Wade Bunce, with burial in Mercer Cemetery near Bolivia. Grandsons were ac tive pallbearers. Mrs. Nolie Soles CHADBOURN—Mrs. Nolie Du bose Soles, 57, of Chadbourn. Route 1, died Sunday.
