Recent Bride Mrs. Jimmie Tutor, prior to her marriage on June 3rd, was the former Miss Gwendolyn P’aye Clem mons. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Clem mons of Supply. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Braxton Tutor of Varina. After a wed ding trip, the couple will reside in Fuquav Springs and continue school at Campbell College in the Fall. WILLIAM ELLIOTT HICKMAN Miss Anita Tunstall Weds William Elliott Hickman Miss Anita Tunstall, daughter. of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Archie Tunstall, became the bride of Wil liam Elliott Hickman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Elliott Hickman of Southport, in a lovely after noon double ring ceremony solem nized Saturday at four o'clock in the First Methodist Church in Hickory. The Rev. J. Garland Winkler, pastor of the church, officiated. Wedding music was presented by Bob Stark, vocalist, and Larry ' Lowder, organist. Serving as acolyte was Henry Cleveland Tunstall, brother of the bride. Given in marriage by her fath- i er, the bride wore a full length j original wedding gown of peau | de soie, fully lined. Her fitted bodice featured a sculptured neck line embellished with seed pearls on hand-clipped Chantilly lace and long tapered sleeves. Tiny peau covered buttons graced the back and sleeve openings. Double fash ion bows graced the piped basque back waistline. Her princess con trolled front skirt scattered with Chantilly lace medallions flowed from deep double pleats into a fully fanned chapel train. Her contour crown of seed pearls and iridescent jeweled Chantilly lace held a two tier fingertip veil of imported English illusion. She carried a white Bible given to her by her maternal grandmother, centered with a white orchid and showered with valley lilies and satin streamers tied into love knots. The bride also carried a lace handkerchief which was car ried by her grandmother in her wedding sixty years ago. Mrs. William Hal Farrell, Jr., day until Monday. W. R. Galloway of Supply spent Wednesday until Monday as a medical patient. Charles Bruce of Southport was a medical patient from Friday until Sunday. Albrem Galloway of Southport entered on Friday as a medical patient. of Concord was Matron of Honor. She wore a fashion length gown of pink posy rice paper taffeta. Her basic sheath dress featuring a scoop neckline and short sleeves, was overskirted with three fully gathered drapes form ing a bubble effect, to hemline. Double pink bows graced the shoulders and side front waist line. Her matching pink hat, a pillbox effect of organza and taf feta petals, featured a matching pink cage veil of imported maline. She carried a cascade bouquet of Better Times Roses and French net in matching color and tied with satin streamers and bow. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ran dolph C. Grant, Jr., of Jackson ville, Fla., sister of the groom: Mrs. Robert Archie Tunstall, Jr., sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Leon Lewis, Gastonia, cousin of the bride; and Miss Laura Owen of Hickory. They were dressed identical to that of the honor attendant and carried a cascade bouquet of Better Times Roses. Wayne Logan Houser, of Greensboro, college roommate and fraternity brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Archie Tunstall, Jr., brother of the bride; William C. Adbernethy, Hickory; Robert E. Lowder, Kannapolis; and Charles L. Sowers of Salisbury. The mother of the bride wore a street length gown of copaen blue silk organza over matching silk taffeta. Her piled waistline held a lined slim silk organza skirt with a fully gathered silk organza back panel falling loosely to hemline. She wore a controlled pillbox style hat of powder and copaen blue shasta petals of organza peau and a white orchid corsage. The grooms mother wore a summer gold gown of silk chiffon j over matching silk taffeta. Her Chantilly lace bodice featured a round neckline. She wore match ing accessories and a corsage of brown cymbidium orchids. The maternal grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Henry Frances Taylor, Sr., wore a dress of sap phire blue lace and a white car nation corsage. The paternal grandmother, Mis. Robert Cleve land Tunstall, was dressed in navy and had a corsage of white carnations. Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the Lake Hickory Country Club. The bride is a graduate of Clarmont Central High School. She attended Appalachian State Teachers College and is now em ployed in the office of Central Telephone Company, Hickory. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto* Elliott Hickman of Southport, the bridegroom attended Southport High School, graduated from the University of Norlh Carolina where he was vice president of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. He is a member of the Hickory Bach elor's Club. He is associated with the Pillsbury Company. For traveling the bride changed to a suit of white trimmed in blue with matching blue access ories and a white orchid corsage. After a wedding trip to Saint Simons Island, the couple will make their home at 35-31st Ave N. W. Those attending the wedding from Southport were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gilbert. Mrs. Harold Aldridge and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hickman. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Grant, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jack son, of Greensboro also attended.
