Miss Mary Zillah Bennett Is Married To John David Dawson In a double ring • ceremony solemnized July 1 in the First Baptist Church of Shallotte, Miss Mary Zillah Bennett and John David Dawson pledged their mar riage vows. General Ivan L. Bennett of Alexandria, Virginia, and Rev. H. B. Bennett of Shallotte, uncles of the bride, officiated. Music was presented by Mrs. Early Smith, organist, and Miss Dencie Brown, soloist, of Lilling ton. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown designed ! and made by her sister, Mrs. Bry an R. Smith. It was made of alencon lace over white taffeta with portrait neckline, long point ed sleeves trimmed with rhine stones. Her veil was attached to a crown of lace, seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of carnations and stephanotis, centered with a white orchid. Her only ornament was a rhinestone pendant, gift of the groom. Mrs. Bryan R. Smith, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a street length gown of blue organza over blue taffeta with portrait neckline and full skirt. Her headpiece was of blue net, and she carried a nosegay of white carnations touched with blue. Mesdames B. A. Sabiston, ' Mvrle Evans, and N. T. Bennett acted as hostesses. The table was covered with a cut work white table cloth. A four-tiered wedding cake topped by a miniature bride ' and groom was flanked by a center piece of white gardenias, delphinium, and fern. Tall white candelabra was used for lighting. Among the guests present were members of the wedding party ] and Mrs. Ivan L. Bennett of Alexandria, Virginia, Bryan l Smith, Sr. of Longwood, and Mrs. ' Bessie Smith. Houston Hewett of Ash. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Bennett of J Shallotte. She teaches first grade 1 at Waccamaw School. The groom is the son of Mr. I and Mrs. John David Dawson of Supply. A reception was held following the wedding at the Double-B Restaurant. Mrs. Claire Evans and Mrs. Myra Willis greeted the guests. Mrs. Willie Ward presided at the gift table.
