Wil liams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams, Bolivia, is being re assigned to the United States Air Force technical training course for supply specialists at Amarillo AFB, Tex. Airman Williams, who has completed his basic military training here, was selected for the advanced course on the basis of his interests and aptitudes. Stacy, Zervakis Initial Entries In Southern 500 DARLINGTON, S. C.—Shoot ing for an unprecedented third straight win at Dar-lington Race way. Nelson Stacy, 41 year-old Daytona Beach stock car veteran has signed to compete in the twelfth renewal of the Southern 500, Labor Day. Also signing was Emanuel Zer vakis. Richmond, Va., a veteran of eight starts at Darlington. Zer 'vakis will drive a 1962 Mercury and Stacy a 1962 Ford. The two drivers, making ap pearances in the interest of high way safety for the Virginia State Police, are the first of an expect ed 60-car field that will try for the 44 starting positions in the 585,000 race. Stacy, driving in his first Southern 500 last September, be came the first driver to win the famed race in his initial start. The pair repeated the act in the Rebel 300 at Darlington last May when Stacy passed Panch twice on the last lap to capture that crown by a car length. Herb Thomas, winning consecutive Southern 500s in 1954 and 1955 plus Fireball Roberts, Southern 500 winner in 1958 and Rebe1 300 victor the following spring are the only other drivers to score con secutive wins at the historic South Carolina race plant.
