The Farming Guide By A. S. KNOWLES County Agricultural Agent Farmers should make sure that they file an application for tax refund for the gasoline used in farming. The Federal Tax period covers July 1, 1961 through June 30, 1962, and the State Tax pe riod is from January 1, 1962 through June 30, 1962. Those farmers filing an appli cation last year should receive another application in mail. Those that do not have one may get an application from the office of the County Agricultural Agent in Supply. These applications must be filed before October 1, 1962. A number of tobacco growers have completed their harvest. One of the best nematode control practices is to plow up the to bacco roots for exposure to the sun. This should be done as soon as the crop is harvested to pre vent feeding and development of LOUIS KRAMM’S T. V.
