Hello there! ; July 4th is almost her with the parade at Southport end all the beach parties plan..*!. It really sounds like a day of ex citement and lots of fun. Parties, art festival, bands playing and beautiful girls ear mark the Fes tival as a day of activity for all ages. If you’ve never been to Southport for the Festival, plan to go this year, It’s FUN! The Harold Milllken family of Florida is visiting here now. Our congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Milton F. Smith. Mrs. Smith is the former Glenda Sue Reeves of the Thomasboro area. The new addition to the Cala bash seafood industry is a drive in restaurant, and according to Mrs. j. Pearlie Russ of Ocean Isle, they serve delicious “Brunswick Seafood.” Of course all of the folks at Calabash serve only the best, but we just cannot wait to drive up to the new one and get served while we wait. That means you can come as you are! The Bobby L. Gores of Ocean Isle are living in New Jersey now. The Jacob Jones family have moved to the Ocean Isle area and plan to make it their home. Welcome! The Billy Cheers family of Shallotte is building a new home on N.C. 130 about a mile from town. Looks nice and spacious. We see our good friend Lennel W. Hewett doing the carpenter work, too! Just recently the Rusty Burger House at Shallotte was expanded by Durbin Vamam and his car penter buddies. I believe some one said that we were to have a "Chicken Specialty” or maybe “Mammies Chicken” there. Dur bin is the "guitar-picking” car penter and one of the WVCB Country Corner personalities. And he does the finest "house building” there is anywhere around, too! The creativeness of working with your hands and living j plants, and the thrilling taste of your own vegetables ten minutes-out-of-the garden, j is a vanishing pleasure that everyone should experience, especially the teenagers. And have pretty hands, as well.
