A gospel sing featuring Canaanland will be pre
sented at Mill Creek Baptist Church on November
29 at 7 p.m. The church is located on Highway 87
near Winnabow. A love offering will be taken.
Island Baptists plan revival
First Baptist Church of Oak Island will conduct revival services Sunday
through Wednesday, November 15-18.
Evening services will begin at 7 p m. and a nursery will be provided.
Special music will be featured at each service. The revival speaker will be
the Rev. Morris Hollifield, pastor of Jersey Baptist Church in Lexington.
‘Quality experience’ is topic
"Managing Quality Experiences" is the title of the sermon-to be delivered
by Dr. W. Murray Page at the Southport Presbyterian Church this Sunday,
November 15, during the 11 a.m. worship hour.
The message will have as its text Romans 13:8 and will address the fol
lowing concerns:
How do you handle wisely all the demands made on your time and
energies? How do you plan quality time with your family, friends and
God? How do you cope with all the demands of love being made upon
you? And how do you manage experiences which re energize your spirit
for Christian ministry?
St. Peter discusses ‘mistakes’
The sermon topic at the 11 a.m. service at St. Peter Lutheran Church on
Sunday, November 15, will be "Mistakes in Religion".
Pastor Charles McManus, using the lectionary parable passage of Luke
18:9-14, concerning the lax collector and Pharisee praying in the temple,
will point out that "Christ-! ike religion is not bridged by pious deeds and
meritorious living." Revealing the significance of the cross. McManus will
state that "Christ-like religion is expressed in the humbie'spirit of the tax
collector’s prayer, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner.’"
The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 11 a.m. ser
vice.
‘Message’ is Baptist subject
"How Important is Our Message?" (Luke 24:46-48) will be pastor Wayne
Trexler’s message topic during the 11 a.m. morning worship service at
Southport Baptist Church this Sunday, November 15. Choral music will be
"Share His Love" and "Trust, Try and Prove Me".
The message topic during the 7 p.m. worship will be "Lessons of the
Loaves and Fish". Soloist Jenni Johnson will provide special music and
choral music will be "Here Am I".
‘All-day’ service scheduled
Joy Assembly of God will hold an "all-day church service" on Sunday,
November 15, beginning at 10 a.m.
The purpose of the service is "to have praise, worship, prayer, preaching
and special music as long as the Lord leads." The day will include dinner
on the grounds, a special mime program by teenagers of the church and a
concert by The New Life Vocal Band, a southern gospel group from Lum
berton and surrounding areas.

A hot turkey dinner, attic
treasures, cookbooks, crafts and
baked goods are among the items
that will be featured at the annual
bazaar sponsored by United Meth
odist Women.
It will be held from 0:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. Friday, November 13, in
the Trinity United Methodist Church
fellowship hall.
Dinner will be served beginning at
11:30 a.m. The cost is S4.50 a plate.
Money raised through the bazaar
will be used to support church mis
sion projects.

will hold a barbecue dinner and
bazaar on Saturday, November 14,
starting at 11 a.m.
The menu will consist of
homecooked barbecue, potato salad,
slaw and hushpuppies. Plates will be
