Wedding reports
The State Port Pilot has adopted new guidelines for the publi
cation of wedding reports.
"The newspaper has never charged for the publication of wed
ding Stories Or wedding photos and will continue to offer the
service free of charge,” editor Ed Harper said. "But such reports
will be subject to stricter editing to emphasize the local relevance
of the event."
Harper said this means some portions of a wedding report will
no longer be included in articles published free. Those who want
to assure that a complete wedding report is printed will be offered
the opportunity to purchase space on a per-inch basis.
The editor also addressed the matter of outdated wedding
reports.
"In order for a wedding report to be considered for free publica
tion it must be submitted to the newspaper no more than 21 days
after the event," Harper said. "Those notmeetmg this deadline will
be offered the opportunity to purchase space for the publication of
an edited or complete report, whichever they choose,"
