‘Best-decorated’
If you want a glimpse of some of the best-decorated homes and
businesses in the Southport-Oak Island area, drive by Margaret
Rudd and Associates Inc.’s two offices and Sadie Hill’s home on
41st Street NE in Long Beach.
They were the top winners in the Christmas-By-the-Sea Festival’s
annual "best-decorated" contests this holiday season.
Margaret Rudd’s offices in Southport and Yaupon Beach took
first and second places, respectively. Red Carpet Dorothy Essey and
Associates on Oak Island Drive came in third. All were awarded
trophies. Judging the entries were Tom Monks and Rita Hatcher.
Joan Kinney and Bobbi Frazier judged Hill’s home as the best
decorated and awarded her the $100 first-place prize. Nancy Wilson
of Holly Drive in Southport was the second-place $50 prize winner
and Butch Weaver of Sellers Street in Yaupon Beach took third
place and the $25 prize.
New officers of the Brunswick County Board of
Realtors are (from right) Dorothy Essey, president;
Cora Walling, vice-president; Sherry Marshall, sec
retary; and Wyatt Gordon, treasurer.
