I need air conditioning to take the
humidity out of our home. In the
winter, the air is so dry, I create
sparks whenever I touch metal.
What can I do to help the situation?
ANSWER: To reduce humidity,
you can install ducted fans to vent
vapors outdoors from the kitchen,
laundry and bath. If you don't have air
conditioning, you may want to invest
in a dehumidifier.
If too LITTLE moisture occurs dur
ing winter, you can resort to automatic
humidifiers. One kind is built into the
heating system and spreads moisture
through the heating ducts. The other
is a portable room humidifier.
