Franklin Square hosts
variety of art exhibits
this spring, summer
Franklin Square Art Gallery fea
tures paintings and sculptures creat
ed by local artists as well as artists
from around the country. Exhibits of
artwork created by students is on
display in the youth gallery.
Entries in the annual juried Spring
Art Show will be on display through
May 16. Open to members of
Associated Artists of Southport, the
show features a variety of two
dimensional and three-dimensional
artwork.
An art show entitled "Earth, Fire,
Wind and Water," also open to
members of Associated Artists of
Southport, will be on display from
May 18 through June 27.
All entries in the amateur photog
raphy contest sponsored by the
Brunswick County Parks and
Recreation Department will be on
display through the month of June.
This year's contest theme is "North
Carolina Coastal Rivers, Streams,
Lakes and Intracoastal Waterways."
The gallery's biggest show of the
year, the annual Fourth of July
exhibit, will be on display from June
Gallery hosts frequent workshops
29 through August 1. Artists from
throughout the country enter works
in this juried show.
Gallery hours are Monday through
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For fur
