The Randolph Bulletin. LOCAL AND PERSONAL J. I. Johnson, of Farmer, was in town last Saturday on busi ness. J. T. Hedrick, the Lexington Grocery man, was in town last week. President Moffitt, of Elon Col lege, was m town the first of the week, Mies Maggie Moffitt, of Wil mington, is visiting at John T. Alolhitt's Dr. F. A. Henley went down to Troy Monday on professional business. James Wrenn and Miss Sallie Prevo, of Worthville, spent Sun day at M. C. Spoon's. Isham Bean, of Richland, who has been quite ill for some time does not imgrove. Miss Agnes Moring has been reelected a teacher in the Thom asville graded school. Prof. Craven, of the States ville graded school, spent Satur day and Sunday in town. Miss Jennie Ingold, of Oxford, is visiting Miss Fox in south Asheboro. Mr. Kennedy has moved from the Walker house, in south Ash boro, to Mr. Skeen's house in north Ashboro. Bernice Phillips, Carrier on Route No. 3, who has been on sick leave for some time, is im proving. J. S. Lewis spent Sunday with his family, returning to Mont gomery county Monday morning, The town authorities have be gun their semi-annual job of moving the mud back Tvhere they got it. E. P. Hayes, a prominent merchant of Kandleman, was in Ashboro last Saturday on business. E. W. Lyon, of Greensboro and T. J. Redding, of Caraway, visited at R. I. Dickens' last Friday. Walter Stout, of High Point, came down Thursday, on a visit to relatives in the Squirrell creek section, teturnmg Satuaday, Mrs. Dr. F. A. Henley and children are visiting Mrs. Hen ley's mother, Mrs. Ingold, at Randleman. Joseph Norman has moved from one of the Cooper houses, in west Ashboro, to the Walker house, in south Ashboro, recent ly purchased by him. Miss Ruth Freeman, of Arch dale, who has been visiting Miss Florence Hendricks since last Saturday, has returned to her home. John Hammer, who has been spending some time in this sec tion with relatives and friends, returned to Columbia, S. C. Tuesday. Cap. Allen Hale, of the South ern railroad, who is now located in South Carolina, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Hale, in west Ashboro. The Epwotrh League business meeting will be held Thurday night at 8-30 o'clock instead of Friday night. Let all leaguers take note of the change. Miss Ethel Free daughter of A. M. Free, R. F. D. No. 1, who has been quite ill of typhoid fever, is improving. Rev. W. 0. Davis and family, who have been visiting the fam ily of M. L. Davis, on Sunset avenue, returned to their home at Springhope Tuesday. Mis Ethel Ridge, of Greens boro, who has been visiting her cousin, Mrs. W. A. Coffin, the past week, returned to her home last Tuesday. Mrs. D. M. Hollady spent last week in Greensboro, returning home Saturday, accompanied by D. M. Hollady, who spent Sunday with his family, returng Monday morning, Rev. N. R. Richardson, pastor of the M. E. Church was at Pisgah Church on Friday Satur day and bunday, hence had no service in his church here Sunday morning. The old dry kiln, formerly used by the Snow Lumber Com pany between the railroad and the new street lately opened, is being removed preparatory to the erection of a large, double brick building to be used partly as a wholesale grocery and part ly as a warehouse by McCrary Redding Hardware Co. . W. H. Hale, a son of our town man S. H. Hale, now living at Talbot, Tenn., in a private letter says he recently threshed his crop of wheat and had 1,000 bushels. On one field of twelve acres he raised 365 bushels, which shows he has not forgot ten his early training on a Ran dolph farm. Miss Nettie Glass, of Concord, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. N. T. The Democratic county con vention, nominate candidates for the legislature and the various county offices, has been called to meet in Asheboro, Saturdar Aug. 18. The township primaries are called for Saturday, the 11, one week earlier. The Montgomery county Re publican convention has been called to meet at Troy, Wednes day, August 8th, for the purpose of nominaing a full set of candi dates. Montgomery, this year, nominates the candidate for the state senate for this district which, by the way, is a soft snap for somebohy. Copeland, of Greensboro, addressed the con ference in behalf of the Womens Home Missionary Society and dealt with the work of this im portant branch of church work.
