The Randolph Bulletin. something is LOCAL AND PERSONAL October 27th the big day in Ashboro. Everybody is coming to town Saturday. N. F. Davis of New Market, was in town Monday. H. B. Martin spent Sundav at his old home at Winston-Salem. November 6th going to drop. Carl Herndon is visiting his sister Mrs. J. T. Moffitt. Come to the basket picnic Sat urday October 27th. V. L. Freeman, of Ether, was a business visitor in town Tues day. Work on the school building has been retarded by the bad weather. Mrs. J. B. Ward and Mrs. C. J. Cox spent last Tuesday with relatives at Spero. Enterprising citizens of Ram peur have organized a bank for that thriving little city. Misses Esther Ross, Nannie Bulla and Mrs. E. E. Kephart saw Mme Nordic a in Raleigh Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Ross, P. H. Morris and Ed Morris went to Tarboro Monday to attend the marriage of C. S. Morris. E. E. Vuncanon came home from Guilford College to spend Sunday with his father, J. M. Vuncanon, of near Holly. Elkin-Hendricks. The surprise wedding of Miss Florence Anna Hendricks and Mr. Robert L. Elkin was solemn ized Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Hendricks. The simple and im pressive ceremony that bound the young couple together was said by Rev. W. E. Swain, pastor of the M. P. church. The parlor of the residence in which the ceremony took place, was tasteuilly decorated with palmns, fenu and other potted plants. Tne bride and groom descended the stairs and entered the parlor !o the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, which was well rendered by Miss Bertha Josephene Hall, of Clem mons. Only a few relatives and near friends were present to witness the ceremony and to congratu late the happy couple. Among those present were Miss Ruth Freeman, of Achdale; Miss Bertha Hall, of Clemmons; Miss Esther Auman, Rev. and Mrs. W. E. Swain, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Spoon, Messrs. A. 0. and T. S. Ferree, of Ashboro. The bride is one of the most popular young women of the city, and has qualities of disposi tion that has won to her a large Holly. The misty disagreabJe weather ! seems to be against good neaitn conditions. Mrs. John Tillman, is very sick. Indications of. fever are developing. Mr. J. H. McDaniel, is improv ing very slowly. He is under the care of a trained nurse. Mr. Elroy Parker, and wife- of Eudora Kansas, were visitors at W. II. Parkers last week.- Mrs. Claude Wins'ow, of Brige-! port N. C. is a visitor at W. C. Winslows. The public spooking was a grand success last Monday night. A large croud was present, and every body enjoyed the occasion. Register, the books close S t"t urday the 27th. Jolly has moved his stock of undertaking supplies to his new apartments in the second story of the new wholesale gro cery building. He will be better prepared now than ever to sup ply his trade. From exposure and speaking in the open air last week Mr. English is not physically able to go out in the joint canvass this week. His physician ordered him to remain at home till his health improves. Col. J. E. Walker has sold his residence property on Walker avenue to 0. R. Cox of Cedar Falls. The price paid was $7, 250. This is one of the most valuable and handsome residence properties in town and by the j transter Mr. Cox has come into possession of a very beautiful home. Ashboro welcomes Mr. Cox to citizenship here. Dr. J. 0. Walker returned to Concord Monday after a prolong ed stay with his father, Col. J. E. Walker. The doctor was called here some weeks ago on account of the serious illness of his little son James who is now on the road to recovery. Rev. Henry Sheets, of Lexing ton, has been called to the pas torate of the new Baptist church which has just been organized here, and will enter upon his new duties the third Sunday in November. His congregation will use the Ptesbyterian edifice until they can build a church home for themselves. We call special attention to the new ad. of the Ramsuer Store Company in this issue.
