Miss Lanta Winslow is visiting relatives in High Point. Miss May Dickens attended Trin ity commencement Tuesday. J. T Winslow made a business trip to Greensboro Tuesday. Mrs. Ferguson of Aberdeen is visiting Mrs. A. O. Ferree this week. Miss Clara Spencer is visiting her sister, Miss Lizzie in High Point. Sam Spencer is at home for va cation from A&M College at Ral eigh. Miss Ballinger has movei her stock of milliney into the Ridge Fox building. Mrs. W. E. Swain is expected home today from St. Lee' s hos pital at Greensboro. W. C. Hammond left Tuesday for Guilford College where he goes to attend commencement. Engineer E. E. Kephart has returned from a month's visit with his mother in Pa. The Methodist Sunday school children are enjoying an outing at Cedar Falls today. Trouble at Ulah again. Last Thursday evening another fight was pulled off between Mabe Ledvvell and Shufe Russell near Ulah. The same parties had an encounter some weeks ago, but it was compromised and peace seemed to reign. However the truce was of short duration and when they met Thursday the old feud was re opened and a scrimmage follow ed. When the smoke cleared I away it was found that Russel's i face was badly battered and ! that Babe Yow, who had no j part in the fuss had received a ! load of number 4 shot in his legs. Ledwell was arrested and brougt to Ashboro and locked up Fin day night in usfault of $400.00 bond. On Saturday he gave Franklinville. Rev. J. T. Barnett preached two very nice and instructive sermons at the Baptist church Saturday night and Sunday. T. C. Frazier who has been on the sick list for a few days is convalescent. E. B. REVIVAL MEETING At John Wesley's o!d Stand. A series of revial meetings will begin at John Wesleys old stand, now known as the Robbins grave yard, 7 miles west of Asheboro, on Friday night before the 3d Sunday in June. The special election held in Randleman to vote on issuing $22,500 bonds for street improve ment was carried for bonds. A Sunday train was put on last Sunday between Asheboro and High Point. It leaves Ash boro at 12:15 and returns at 3:35 p. m. Miss Maud Tucker of the Bull etin force attended Why Not commencement and tarried over Sunday with friend near Sea grove. Asheboro sent a large delega tion to Why Not commencment last Thursday. Chas. L. Holton of this place delivered the litera ry address. Prof, and Mrs Chas. M. Staley and children drove through the country to Staley Wednesday and will be the guests of Prof. Staley's parents for some days. W. D. Stedman & Co. are making preparations to move their grocery building off its present location in order to com mence the erection of their new brick building. The quarterly meeting was held at Holly Spriners on Saturday i and Sunday the 25th and 26th and was pretty well attended in spite of the in favorable weather.
