The relatives and friends spared no pains nor expense in preparing for this event and each took a boun tiful basket of good things to eat and some beavftif ul presents. Bonkemeyer, died at her home near Central Falls, aged 74 yean October I2th last. The de ceased was a consistent member of the M. P. church at Giles' chapel. The funeral was conducted by Key. ILL. Hardin, our chicken and egg buyer, has about decided to quit the chicken business as he has taken in a Byrde. He likes bird better than chicken. J. F. Horner and B. F. Partita Dead , Other Rem, Mr. J. FJ Homey, one of the best known citizens of this community, was buried at Concord cemetery Monday. He had been very ill with pneumonia for more than a week, and died on Sunday morning last. The funeral services were held at the home of the deoeasedfW account of the illness of Mrs. Homey, who was unsbie to go to the church. ReT. J. " A. Sharp conducted the servioes,and a very large number of people were in attendance.. Mr. Homey leaves wife and eight children, all oi whom are at home. : They have the sympathy of the en tire community in their sorrow. . Mr. Shive. of Greenville, S. 0. has accepted a call to Thomaa. yille and Asheboro preabyterian churches and he will make Thomas ville his home. He is a strong preacher and has most favorably im pressed the community. A preaby terian church has been organized and work on' the structure has been begun and when completed will cost between $3,000 and $10,000.
