Ul that is lacking- is the Sroduets, and there is reason to be eve that these are being prepared and will.be forthcoming between the dates of September 20 and 23. On September 20 all school children will be admitted free. Through Congress man- Wm. C. Hammer's efforts the services of an airplane has been promised for the occasion. Eighty-six of the ninety-six who stood-the st&te bar association exam ination last veeek to get license to practice law passed successfully. One paper' was turned down because the young lady was only 17 years old. Another woman passed -successfully. Among the list ef successful ones was Bernard Franklin McLeod, of Buie's Creek. Chautauqua Cancelled for Thomas ri lie Thomasville ' has cancelled the en gagement for a three-day Chautauqua for October due to the fact that their School auditorium burned in April, leaving no suitable place where the entertainment might be given. The course is the Swathmore Chautauqua, and they agreed to cancel the contract when the situation was presented to them -provided the town would sign a contract for next year, which they Agreed to do.
