Monday with his brother Jethro Jarrell, who lives in Asheboro. Mr. Jarrell work . ed for The Courier three years. He left it about twenty years ago going to High Point and afterwards work ing in Winston-Salem. He is a splendid newspaper mechanic and job man. He is at present in charge of the press room of the Arnold Print ing Company, that does fine color work, in Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Jar rell came through the country in his automobile with his family and will go back the last of this week. Mr. J. C Cox, president of the Cen tral Falls Mfg. Co., and son Irvin Cox, Secretary and Treasurer, were in Asheboro Tuesday of this week. Mr. Cox now lives in Greensboro. Mr. J. T. Powell, a progressive farmer living near Sophia, raised sixty three and one-halt bushels of Irish potatoes on one half acre of land. People who saw them say they were extra fine quality. Mr. Chas. Heading, of Trinity, was in town Tuesday, returning from Chapel Hill, where he had been to place his son, Howard, in the Uni versity for this school term. Mrs. Maude Snyder and children, Hilda and Joe, of Randleman, were visitors in Asheboro one day the lat ter part of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Lackey and lit tle son, Howard, of Winston-Salem, are visiting in Asheboro this week. Mr. M. E. Allen, of Kamseur, Route 1, has begun his new bungalow on old main street in Asheboro. Mr. Allen expects to move here as soon as his residence is completed. Mr. Elias Ashworth, of Denver, Colarado, has recently renewed his subscription to The Courier. Mr. Ashworth writes that he don't want to miss a single copy of the paper as it is a great satisfaction for him to hear from. his old county, The Shenandoah Collegiate Institute, Dayton, Va where they will attend school this term.
