From far and near messages of con gratulation have come to the town of Lexington on securing this great asset. WHY NOT NEWS There were a number of Christmas visitors here, among them were Rev. and Mrs. C. L. Spencer and children, of Kernersville; Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Austin and children and Mr. F. R. Auman, of High Point; Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Cagle, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ca gle and family, of Greensboro; Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Trotrdon, of Star; Mr. Cora In many instances the homely phrase is true, "A prophet is not without honor save in his own coun try", but this is not true cf the pot ters of Randolph county. Ia all the leading papers recently have appear- i ed various articles on the subject ma ny of them containing true facts and many proving unintentionally mis leading to travelers trying to reach the potter shops. There are four shops in the county, or almost on the line. Possibly the most interesting of the shops, cer tainly the most widely discussed is that of Jacques Busbee, a native of Raleigh, N. C, and now of New York City. Mr. Busbee has called his place "Jugtown" and thereby raising quite an argument as to the location. Ma ny people are now discussing the whereabouts of this "Jugtown'', and some even claiming it to be as far away as Lincoln county. it seems there are numerous Jugtowns, but is made up chiefly of his potter shop and two or three country houses, is straight down the old plank road to a sign "Five miles to Hemp". Here a road turns to the left leading to Needham's Grove schoolhouse, and this is almost in sight of "Jugtown". Jugtown may also be reached via of Erect and going on good road to Needham's Grove, there taking a fairly good country road. Probably here it would not be amiss to give Mr. Busbee a word of praise which is his due, for he is an artist, as well as a most charming gentleman. A few weeks ago it was the writers pleasure to have Mr. Bus bee for a guest for a day, and while he does not thrust his art upon his friends, he is mildly enthusiastic and talks very interestingly of his work, but when asked far a little sketch for Nt classified advrrtheni ' wiV, K- take- for tea this 50 cesU and all adTertiaemmia tent la mast be ee- 3t pd 1-3-24. rampanie pj fcmitiasce.
