Randolph, the best county in the State should have a number of im provements. The chamber of com merce is undertaking to stimulate tha citizens to larger and better things. The. Courier will in the near future carry a program of needs and improvements. Will everyone inter ested in the county's progress write a suggestion for it aim high and work to reach it.. Democrats generally express entire satisfaction with the political out look as the campaign approaches. The Republicans are again torn asunder in factional strife. The tur moil and dissention in their ranks grows worse as the Congressional session gets under way, and it is doubtful if any legislafeon to lessen the burden of the ordinary taxpaying citizen will see the light of day. Mr. Coolidge is to write the next Republican platform and it is to be "snappy", the Washington dispatches tell us. Somehow it is difficult to as sociate Mr. Coolidge with anything that suggests speed, but we all re member the story of the man who took a week off in order to spend an exciting afternoon at the zoo watch ing, the turtles whiz by. Tx. revision has been discussed from every angle since Congress con vened January third. The Mellon Tax revision bill was first proposed. It made provision for the, rich, folks; then comes Representative Garner's proposal looking to the relief of the poorer class.- There is food- for thought in his revisal proposal. , . Among the needs in Randolph county is a large production of poul try. Someone .would find a proflteable mdustry in the establishment of in cubators sufficient to supply the de mand for early chickens. Ten farmers in Lincoln County are getting chicks ready for the early market. Some have taken off their first hatch and the incubators are now busy again. From twelve to fifteen thousand eggs will be set between now and the first of April in Lincoln county. Carter's Weekly, one of the lead ing weekly newspapers of this sec tion of the state, has been sold to Julius C. Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard has been editor of the paper, which was established in 1917, for several rears. The paper hereafter will be known as the Wilkes Journal, !H is announced. The policy of the paper remains unchanged. It will continue to be non-political, and will be de voted to the upbuilding of Wilkes County and all North-western North Carolina.
