The annual Kearns-Wood reunion was held at the park in Asheboro Sunday August 3rd, with more th&n two hundred members of the two families, connections and friends in attendance. Congressman Wm. C. Hammer, of Asheboro, was speaker on this oc casion. Sam Redwine, colored, suffered a broken left leg and Is in a High Point hospital, John Gunter, white, several broken ribs and braises, and his son, George Gunter, right arm displaced, and Clovis Andrews, 17, a bruised back, Tdlsday morning when a scaffold on which they with one other man were working on the coun ty garage on the county heps prop erty two miles south of Asheboro. The workmen were engaged in rais ing the rafters when the scaffold on which they were standing gave way, throwing them to the ground on a pile of lumber. The Injured were brought to Asheboro Immediately fol lowing the accident and were given first aid treatment at Barnes Clinic. Lonnie Green, young: farmer of the Holly Springs community, is in a High Point hospital with his neck slashed severely, and in a critical condition, yhfle^ his brother, Ed without; privilege of bond charged said to have occurred, and took Ed Green, about 20 years ot age, in cus tody.' It is reported- that the cutting scrape occurred during a drunken spree, and that Ed Green had been in toxicated for several days. However, details of- the affair are lacking. The wounded man is an industrious farm er and has a wife and one chad. Though seriously wounded, he is ex pected to recover.
