The Chattanooga Mining and Manufacturing company, c-orujKs'd of Chattandbga, Bos ton ami Lynn, Massachusetts capitalists have purchased two thousand acres of mangaiiese and brown hematite ore land adjacent to Tunnel Hill, (ia., twenty-six miles from Chattanooga, and have com menced mining nutngauesc. Four car loads f ore were tdiipped to Carnegie to day for steel making. The company will at once build a railroad to the mines, and a one hundred ton furnace for making spcigel iron, at .Ch-attanooga. This will be one of the largest and most important plants in the south. The company has ample capital to finish the work rapidly.
