r Sir:
We have been hearing all
around that the Sawmill Boys must
be dead, and: we take this opportu
nity of tellingtho readers of the
good old Hkuald, (for such is her
name,) that we never had lefw and
felt better in all our lives that that
redheaded man that pulls the lever
puts'on us.
We mean to tell the truth, and
we will let this part of the country
advertise itself, we nave good reason
to believe that crops are made over
here. We see old plows, and hoes on
to the barns for winter quarters.
Some of them dont think they will
ba able to work another crop, and
we dont believe thay will all get in
for winter. Some of thti weeds show
that they had a hard fight this sum
mer, but they have conquered a
gain. We wont have much corn to
sell, but we will have a line crop of
weeds? if Jack Frost gets-here in
time, and Ave reckon he will.
They tried to get up a Farmers Al
liance here the other day. Scarcity
of material troubled them.
