Tuesday's Citizen Pay W aynes vi'le has organized a baseball team and work began today on the ball grounds on the properly of Dr. Smathers neur the White Sulphur Springs Intel. The club has sent away for a pitcher so a to be able to put up a good game. The grounds are to be enclosed and a grand stand will be completed by the Fourth of Jnly. The Asheville team will prob ably be invited to come up here. Cherokee. It is time for the Bryson City Club to visit Cberckeje and play an other ball game. The Cherokee Rustler- will croo bat9 with the Waynesville club on the 4th of July, if not sojner. The new buildings just completed with this choice location and arrange ment makes Cherokee one of the most attractive sputs in Western Noith Carolina. Mr. Thos. I. Hughes niuiager of D. K. Collins store has been recent ly appointed Post Master at Cnerokee and will remove the office to the store where he will be more convenient to the public. The closing exercises of the U. S. Indian school came off fery success fully Friday June 21st a very large number of visitors from Waynesville Biyson City and the surrounding country were iu attendance. Thp school has enjoyed a most prosper ous year, with a full attendance nf pupils. Several of the teachers are prepar ing to leave for their summer vaca tion.
