Shaw of Fayetteville. The case probably commenced yosterday, and will be watched with great inter- est. On going to press we learn this case has been continued till Jan. term of Court. Tne Cape xearFreeWill Convene tion. The Cape Fear Free-Will Baptist Convention convened with Shady Grove Church, Sampson Co Nov. the 10th and 11th. The introductory sermon preached by Elder. Robert Strickland, after which the Confer ence was called to order by the Mod erator Elder Londie Lee and the names entitled to membership en roiled, there being a quorum present the Conference was 'then ready for i he transaction of business. Mr, B. A. Hodges was treasurer and Mr. H. W. Jernigan secretary. Rev. J. J. Harper of Smithneld, J. L. WinSeld of Washington. N. C. and J. h. John son from Wayne, fraternal 'messen ger frm the Disciple Church were present. The hand of fellowship wa3 extended to the visiting brethren and thev were welcomed to seats with the Conference.
