Mr. Shaw will return to Ga., in about ten days. At a meeting of the Dunn Presbyte rian church congregation on last Sunday, Mess. J. J. "Wade and Ed Smith, was eleeted as additional Elders- We think the congregation made a very wise se lection. The school taught by Mi. Vf A. E. Stw art of Grove Township was before U. S. Commissioner J. B. Holland for retailing liquor without license, but as the evidence was not sufficient he was acquiled. On last Thursday about 12 M. Capt. Kelly in charge of the material train, brought to the ollice of Dr. M. TV. Har per, Warren Beebe, col., one of his lands, with both arms and hands badly erushed and mangled, right shoulder dhloeatsd, and left thigh broken; also some bruises on the scalp his condi tion was a serious oiie. Dr. Harper call ed in to his assistance Dr. O. L. Den ning, and alter consultation, proeeetU d to perform a very serious and intricate Mirgicol operation, with the hope of sav in'? life. Both his arms were amputated, reduced the dislocation of shoulder, thigh properly set and splintered, and other waunds dressed, and was placed in a tenant house of Dr. Harper's and we learn that he is getting on well.
