Fayetteville A Beautiful Scene We had the pleasure last Thursday of neeim:e vi-iiiu- that famous old j ,,l -' ,0"n f tlie Cape ear section, Favi tteville, than whose citiens a bet- ter class of people cannot be found any- r where. Anybody can get suited here. All of these little ones carried boque's of dowers to t.e placed on the graves of those brave men who had falle:i in fighting for the Lost Cause. That famous old company, the F. I. L. L, followed, clad in that color which all of us love the gray marching in double file. This company, of which all should feel proud, presented a grander appearance, in our opinion, than ever before. They had that fine, soldierly bearing for which they are famous. This company is the oldest 'in the United States, and the people of Fay etteville should feci proud of it. We also noticed many improvements in this small city, among them was the new county court house, and which any county in the State would feel proud of Tlie next was the handsome building built bi' that good old Order the K. of P., which presents a fine appearance. Fayetteville has a bright future in many ways, and we are not surprised at it when we think of its maivy enter prising citizens, who are essential for any tow n to have. We could mention scores of enterprises that have sprung up in the past six j-ears, but will refrain. Th- Hotel La Fayette, which was built in I8S7, isan enterprise which would re lied credit upon a city of 20,000 inhabi tants. This hotel is being run by that clever gentleman, Mr. Mack Mathis, who has built up a reputation as a hotelist that only a few hotel men enjoy to day. We bid the ijood people of Fay etteville God speed in their public en terprises.
