S. Jackson left for Au; -ysville last Tuesday the 4th to atttmd the bed-side of her sister who was very .ill, but before Mrs. Jackson could reuch her, she had passed over that river from whence no traveller ret urneth. Mrs. Jackson returned Monday. A fishing party, composed of several young men and a number ol young ladies of Dunn, went out to Rhode's pond Monday evening. They all had a merry lime and some of the boys think they caught some Jhhy while others suy they had not even a nibble. There came near being a wreck on the railroad at this place last Sat urday' night. Some mean low-life devil placed a cross tie on the track just in the cde of town, and placed one end against the iron, or father the fish-plate and Iett the other end pro truding in the track. A darkey passed and saw it and at once in formed our night watchman, who went down and removed it just fifteen minutes before the south bound mail came through. Lillineton Uews- Our hotels are now ready to ac commodate summer visitors a few of which have already arrived. New comers are offered good health, good rations, fine scenery and pleasant river breezes, The warm sun. for a few days has done much for the farmers towards repairing thedaiuage caused by the cold spring.
