A negro named Ferguson entered a Detroit, Mich., restaurant and, refusing the seat at one side of the room to which he was directed, sat at a table prominent because of its location. He was relused a meal there and brought suit for dam ages. He got none in the circuit court and took his case to the supreme court, which ordered a new trial. That has just been finished and Mr. Ferguson was thereby awarded six cents damages.
