Harrv Davidson of Charlotte Fires Three phot at "Bnd" Polndex ler The Wounded Man Will Probably Recover. A telegram from Waynesville to the Charlotte Chronicle, under date of Au gust 24, gives the following particul irs of the shooting affair which occurred there Saturday night. Saturday night while Harrison David- ion and his friend Bailey were standing in the door of the Waynesville drug store, Hud Poindrxter in company with his friend, J. K. Love, walked up to David son and asked him why it was he had been threatening to shoot the boys around Waynesville. Davidson drew bis revolver. As the weapon was draws Poindexter struck him in the lace and immediately the pistwi fired, the bullet striking Poindexter in the breast and breaking the skin. Poindexter fell, when another ball was fired, entering his left side one inch. Poindexter madean effort to get behind the counter of the drue store when another shot was fired, strik ing his pocket, but was turned from anv serious damage by a book which he bad in ins pocket. Davidson was arrested by the marshal and held lor a few hours until the vic tim's wounds were examined by Dr. Allen, and pronounced not dangerous, upon which he was bound over until to day's court in a bond of $500. The hour nrrived this morning and the mayor nsken Dr. Allen to make a report as to Poiudexter's condition. Dr. Allen stated that the greatest danger would be blood poison.
