Melbourne states that a collision
occurred at oue o'clock this morning

steamers Gambier and Easley.
The Gambier was bound from Sydney,
N. S. W., for Melbourne and was just
clearing the Heads when she met the
HusUy bound out. It was impossible

possibly washed down the creek
A coroner's iury has lieen at work yes
terday and today but will hardly render
a verdict for several days yet. The rail
road authorities claim that the train
waa deliberately wrecked, the spikes and
bolts having been drawn. The coroner's
jury still take evidence u this point.
